The event included a wine and cheese class taught by Cheesetique's owner, Jill Erber. Cheesetique donated 100% of the wine, cheese and staffing for the event, as well as 15% of retail sales. Invitation design, printing and postage were donated by Belmont, Inc. 100% of the $3,800 raised by the event will benefit the Alexandria Small Business Development Center and the clients it serves. Meeting with professional artists (poets, painters, graphic designers, etc.) and students of all ages, the AYVU facilitates interactive workshops and discussions around issues of race/ethnicity, identity, prejudice and discrimination. From those discussions about real life for Alexandria teens and youth we work together on the common themes with the artists to create a vision of who we are, and to share that with others.
Jim will be designing a series of posters that represents the ideas of two T.C. Williams Students. Stop back to see the final product!
